On Sunday, February 4th at 2:00 pm, the Concord Community Concert Association presents “Frisson Ensemble”. Frisson comes from the French word meaning “a shiver or a thrill, a sudden feeling of excitement. “True to their name, the ensemble performs in over 25 cities annually including appearances in such diverse venues as the Morgan Library and Museum in New York city, for the Da Camera Society in Los Angeles and the Bermuda Festival. This concert features a trio of cello, piano, and clarinet. The silent auction will be “Love”.

On Wednesday, March 27th at 7:30 pm, the Walker Lecture Series presents “An Evening of A Capella with Tonehenge and the Afternotes.

The men of Tonehenge have been entertaining audiences throughout New England since 2009 with their blend of popular and traditional music. Their tagline, “rock solid a cappella’ is a play on the group’s name as well as their repertoire, with a focus on familiar tunes from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. In 2018, and 2019, Tonehenge appeared on WGBH popular talent show “Sing That Thing:”.

The Afternotes is a women’s a cappella group based on the seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine. This multi-generation group of UNH alumnae bring a fun style and varied repertoire to their performance with sets that include songs by Ping, The Bangles, Fleetwood Mac, and Billie Eilish. No Charge. On Wednesday, April 3rd at 7:30 pm, the Walker Lecture Series presents “Harold Lloyd in “Kid Brother” (plus a short) with Jeff Rapsis. He was the bespectacled young man next door whose road to success was paved with perilous (and hilarious) detours. Harold Lloyd and his fast-paced comedies made him the most popular move star on Hollywood’s silent film era. The Audi will provide the famous Audi punch. Following the supper, we will hold the Annual Meeting. Topics to include, a treasury report, committee reports, plans for the Annual Gala etc. The meeting will conclude with the announcement of the 2024 Pineapple award and The Friend of the Year.
