Richie and the High Street Rockers are a Philadelphia power trio bringing the sound and spirit of 1950s and ‘60s rock and roll to the stage. 6:00 pm – Audi organizations and non-profits will set up a display in the 1st parking lot to promote their organization. Looking Glass Land is a stage adaptation by renowned playwright James DeVita that takes Lewis Carroll’s original Through the Looking Glass and literally runs with it. This wild adaptation highlights and improvises on the pure, unadulterated fun of the story. The play still retains some of Carroll’s deeper meanings, but what it possesses most of all is a huge helping of unabashed silliness! On Wednesday, October 28th at 7:30 pm, the Walker Lecture presents An Evening of Bluegrass with the Southern Rail Bluegrass Band. Southern Rail's concerts are high energy exuberant fun with stunning harmonies, irrepressible good humor and sparkling banjo, guitar and mandolin. Their repertoire is fresh and diverse, featuring lots of originals plus a kaleidoscope of covers (Mavis Staples, Paul Simon, Earl Scruggs, Crosby, Stills and Nash). On Wednesday, November 4th at 7:30 pm, the Walker Lecture presents Connie Converse: Concord’s Cassandra with Howard Fishman. Concord High School class of 1942 valedictorian Connie Converse was a trailblazing songwriter, composer, performer, thinker, activist, writer, and community organizer. Converse, who spent her known life engaged with creative and intellectual pursuits that pointed toward many of today’s issues. There was only one problem: she was invisible. In 1974, frustrated by her lifelong inability to have her life’s work acknowledged, Connie Converse wrote notes to family and friends and drove off. She was never seen again.
Connie Converse’s legacy did not disappear along with her. It lives on, preserved in a massive archive she left behind containing letters, diaries, music, artwork, photographs, and recordings of her music–the basis for Howard Fishman’s book To Anyone Who Ever Asks: The Life, Music, and Mystery of Connie Converse. On Friday, November 20th and Saturday, November 21st at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 22nd at 2:00 pm, the Community Players of Concord NH present Come From Away. Come From Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

On Saturday, November 28th at 4:00 and 7:30 pm, Recycled Percussion comes to the Audi for a powerhouse fundraising event supporting the Capital Region Food Program and the Concord Community Concert Association. Recycled Percussion has performed over 7,000 shows worldwide, earned 15 Emmy Awards for Chaes & Kindness, and continues to inspire audiences with their message of positivity and community. The Community Players of Concord NH presents “To Kill A Mockingbird”. Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the play opens in a sleepy Alabama town where Scout and her brother live with their widowed father, Atticus Finch. The town’s seemingly peaceful façade begins to crack when a young black man is accused of a terrible crime. Driven by unshakeable moral conviction, local lawyer Atticus defends the man in a trial that sends violent waves through the community.
