The Community Players of Concord, NH’s Children Theatre Project presents “Sister Act Jr”. 42 young actors ages 6 to 16 will end a week of Summer Theatre Camp with a one night only performance of this fun and family-friendly, one hour musical, based on the 1992 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg. Get out of the heat and come into the air-conditioned Concord City Auditorium to enjoy some live theatre! No admission will be charged, but donations are always grate fully accepted. Monday, August 19, Tuesday, August 20 and Wednesday, August 21 at 9:00 am to 12 Noon and 6:00 to 9:00 pm, The Friends of the Audi “Annual Pitch In Days.” Join us for 1 hour, 1 shift or as long as you can to help spruce up the Concord City Auditorium for the opening of the 2024-2025 Season. Monday morning we’ll prepare the bulk mailing of the Audi Callender to be mailed out to over 5000 families. Many tasks include cleaning windows, polishing brass, sewing curtains and much more. The Community Players of Concord NH presents “The Sound of Music”. The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain”, “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and Five Oscars. The inspiration story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta von Trapp, follows an ebullient postulant who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. Frisson comes from the French word meaning “a shiver or a thrill, a sudden feeling of excitement. “True to their name, the ensemble performs in over 25 cities annually including appearances in such diverse venues as the Morgan Library and Museum in New York city, for the Da Camera Society in Los Angeles and the Bermuda Festival. On Wednesday, March 27th at 7:30 pm, the Walker Lecture Series presents “An Evening of A Capella with Tonehenge and the Afternotes.

The men of Tonehenge have been entertaining audiences throughout New England since 2009 with their blend of popular and traditional music. Their tagline, “rock solid a cappella’ is a play on the group’s name as well as their repertoire, with a focus on familiar tunes from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. In 2018, and 2019, Tonehenge appeared on WGBH popular talent show “Sing That Thing:”.

The Afternotes is a women’s a cappella group based on the seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine. This multi-generation group of UNH alumnae bring a fun style and varied repertoire to their performance with sets that include songs by Ping, The Bangles, Fleetwood Mac, and Billie Eilish. No Charge. Harold Lloyd and his fast-paced comedies made him the most popular move star on Hollywood’s silent film era. A grand community gardening project, helping enhance the city’s streetscape and everybody’s garden. Just dig and split your overgrown perennials and bring them to the Audi to swap and share with neighbors. On Sunday, July 14th at 6:00 pm, The Friends of the Concord City Auditorium will hold their Annual Meeting. It begins at 6:00 pm with a potluck supper. Bring a salad, main dish or dessert to share. The Audi will provide the famous Audi punch. Following the supper, we will hold the Annual Meeting. Topics to include, a treasury report, committee reports, plans for the Annual Gala etc. The meeting will conclude with the announcement of the 2024 Pineapple award and The Friend of the Year.
